A National Benchmark Study Marks a New Era for Sports Tourism

Columbus, OH – The sports tourism industry is on the brink of a transformative era, and the “2025 Resident Sentiment Towards Sporting Events National Benchmark Study”, presented by Miles Partnership, is here to guide the way. This groundbreaking report—the first of its kind in the United States—offers an unprecedented look into the perceptions of residents towards sporting events in their communities. A collaboration between two of the top research firms in the field, Longwoods International and Cimarron Global Solutions, this study is an invaluable resource for professionals working in sport and tourism.

Fielded in October 2024, the survey gathered responses from a representative sample of 4,000 Americans, making it the most comprehensive inquiry ever conducted into residents’ perceptions of sporting events. The collaboration between these two research powerhouses, made possible through a title sponsorship by Miles Partnership, with additional support from the Greater Orlando Sports Commission and Visit Frisco, ensures that the findings are both robust and actionable.
